About Me

My photo
I am mom to three little blessings on earth - Cale, Addy, & Cash. Pre-kiddos, I was a Special Education teacher, but now I spend my days at home with my little ones. I hope to use this site as a journal- to document the day to day stuff we experience on this wild ride we call life :). I look forward to learning, sharing, reflecting, and GROWING. So pull up a chair and visit a while. Please leave a comment to let me know you stopped by. I'd love to check out your blog as well. Let the blogging begin :)! Ready or not...here I go :)!

Looking Beyond the Blur...

I love to take pictures... especially pictures of my kiddos. I am always fascinated by how fast they grow and change and sometimes a little obsessive about "capturing the moment". My husband calls me Olan. Yep, after Olan Mills. Not so much because of the quality of my pictures but more due to the amount of pictures I take :). Thank goodness for digital cameras :). Sometimes my little ones are less than thrilled with me following them around with the camera. Sometimes a little bribery or even a trick or two are involved with getting the "perfect" shot...or at least attempting to get the perfect shot. I will be the first to admit I have done the chicken dance more than once in an attempt to get little eyes looking in my direction. Sometimes it works...sometimes not so much :). They are pretty used to Mama acting like a nut. Anyway, one of my latest challenges has been how quickly they move...especially now that Cash is walking. It seems that many of my shots are blurry. At one point in my life that would have really ticked me off... and sometimes I still have those days :). Perfectionism, or actually longing to be "perfect"... is something that I have struggled with throughout my life. Having children has helped a lot with that :). Goodness knows, I am far far far from perfect. I ask myself how I ever got this job time and time again :). Anyway, looking through some of my pictures got me thinking about how often life is such a blur. It is so easy for me to loose sight of the important things in life and get wrapped up in the day to day insignificance of it all. Worry, anxiety, "busyness", fear, wanting things to be "perfect"...they often rob me of my joy. Sometimes I get so caught up in the day, that I forget to be thankful for the moment. So, today my prayer is that I will look beyond the blur and see the beauty in each moment I am given. Thank you God, for all that you have blessed me with.

A Weekend Filled with FUN!

Mama Brag Time

Okay, hold on tight for one big Mama brag :). This one happens to be about my oldest, Cale. He is such a very smart cookie :)! This was his first year of "real" school (last year he had 1/2 day pre-school 4 days a week), and he did GREAT! I can not even express how proud I am of all he has learned in kindergarten! Not only is he well behaved (um...well at least at school- LOL...) and well rounded, but he is also an excellent reader! So much, in fact, that he went to a first grade reading class each day and "tested" to be reading on a 3rd / 4th grade level and was on 5th grade Dolch words! He was awarded the Georgia Young Authors award for Kindergarten during Awards Day, and we found out that he tested into the FOCUS (gifted) program for next year! We owe a big thanks to his teachers :)! Way to go, Cale :)! We love you and are so proud of you!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!

I guess I need to play "catch up" a bit since lots of exciting things have been going on in our world. All 3 kiddos celebrated birthdays within a month. It felt like one huge NEVERENDING party - LOL :). Here are some pics from our "birthday season". Cash turned 1, Cale 6, and Addy 3. HAPPY BIRTHDAY to my 3 little blessings!!!

3 Kids & A Box

Sometimes I forget how simple FUN can be. Wonder how much it would cost to send this package to the grandparents :)?

Ready or not...here I go :)!

I have "toyed" with the idea of becoming a "blogger" for quite sometime now. Not really sure that I have anything earth shattering to share :), but I think this will be a great way for me to document day to day things with the kids that I will hopefully scrapbook one day when I actually learn how to scrapbook- LOL- and find some "free time" (yeah, what's that :)?). So for now, I'm jumping in with both feet- looking forward to sharing lots of the ins and outs of our days with three little blessings :)!
